Your packaging strategy must keep pace with fast-changing laws:

UK Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR): From October 2025, producers will pay full disposal fees for packaging waste, incentivising recyclable and reusable designs.
Plastic Packaging Tax: As of April 2025, UK businesses pay £223.69 per tonne on plastic packaging with less than 30% recycled content.
EU Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR): From August 2026, all packaging sold in the EU must meet strict recyclability standards, with a target for 100% recyclable or reusable packaging by 2030.
Design for Recycling: By 2028, EU rules will require packaging to meet recyclability grades (A/B/C) and ban unnecessary features like false bottoms.
